Bespoke Tail Pricing
Sketch + Render + Assembly = Total Price

Order Process
What to expect when ordering a Bespoke mermaid tail
Sketch Phase
Step One
The sketch phase is where your design is given its initial life; colors, patterns and flukes are all drafted at this stage. I, Abii, will collaborate with you to create the tail you've dreamed of, then provide you with a digital version of your future tail and a quote for your fabric version.

All of the changes that you would like to make should be done during this stage, so don't be afraid to let me know what you're looking for.
Rendering Phase
Step Two
The rendering phase is when I take your design and paint it to life. Not only will your tail be shaped to your measurements at this stage, but it will be given its scales, shadows, lighting and details at this point in the process.

I will do my absolute best to paint your dream into a reality, which can then be printed for production and assembly.
Assembly Phase
Step Three
In this phase, your completed tail will be printed, cut and sewn by Abii. Every Bespoke tail is given a long zipper for easy monofin access, a semi-thick elastic band for secure swimming, and stretch-stitch sewing to endure all the tricks, twirls and flips you'll do in your new tail.
Your vinyl insert will be hand cut and assembled last, then everything put together before being photographed & shipped to your door.

Sketch Phase Specifics
Sketches come with your slot reservation. This is the stage where you can make major changes to the design until we're satisfied with a rough idea of what the final product should look like. You will get 3 major changes during this phase, but any other major changes following will be $25 per change.

Major changes will not be accepted during the rendering phase, but don't fret! I enjoy working with merfolk until they get a concept they're satisfied with.
Rendering Phase Specifics
The rendering phase is where the sketch is turned into a complete illustration and readied for printing. All of the details (lighting & shading, texture, values, etc.) are created on the tail.
Because the rendering process is the most meticulous stage of the artwork, it is usually what takes the longest in the production period. Making major changes to the tail during the rendering phase will not be allowed due to this reason.
Specialty Requests
Specialty requests are reserved for very ambitious requests. Complex requests will increase the production period of the tail, and are charged according to the labor involved. Lots of tendrils, complex shapes and other items are considered specialty.
Different Backsides
A different backside is charged differently from a darker backside. Examples of a different backside include Stardust & Tail of Toruk, while an example of a darker backside on a tail includes the Little Mermaid tail.
Custom Flukes and Modifications
Prices and wait times increase with the size and complexity of customized flukes.

Because of the amount of labor required to create a new fluke or scale template, customized flukes, scale shapes and modifications will not be exclusive. Please be wary of flukes or modifications being used in the future for other client work.

If there is a distinct shape that you want to remain exclusive to your order only, you can request an Exclusivity Rights Agreement for an added fee. The price of the fee is determined by the complexity of the fluke or scales involved. Extra fin shapes are usually not able to receive an Exclusivity Rights Agreement.

Modifications or shapes that are offensive in nature, too dangerous for swimming or too complex for me to sew will be denied.
